Lovers Turn to Astrology: Love Signs Genuine or Experimental?
In astrology, love signs are usually connected with Venus. As such, she is said to bring out the best in each of the zodiac signs. On the other hand, there are times when instead of bringing out the best she might actually present a bit of a challenge when it comes to discerning her true nature – be it that of unbridled love, or one of cautious experimentation with the idea of simply living as though in love.
For example, when Venus and the fire signs (Leo, Aries, and Sagittarius) hook up, the result is dramatic, to say the least. The love will be fierce, vivid to the point that it is worthy of a thespian performance, highly effusive, and most commonly at the instigation of the fire sign. Anything less should be a warning to the partner that what the fire sign is experiencing may be infatuation, lust, or love with the notion of being in love, but not true romance that may lead to a lifelong relationship.
Venus’ influence on the water signs (Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio) is almost the opposite. Instead of bombastic expression it is tentative, filled with over-romantic gestures, and takes on an almost spiritual quality. Talk of soul mates may be heard. Beware the water sign that becomes sexually ardent or aggressively woos you; this individual is not in love but in lust – which for a water sign is sometimes hard to differentiate.
The earth signs (Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo) and Venus appear to have a sometimes disturbed relationship in that this love is expressed through possessiveness and a single-minded focus that might make others a smidgen uncomfortable. The earth sign who forgets to return a call or email is most certainly not in love. When Venus and the air signs (Aquarius, Gemini, and Libra) collide, all the astrology love signs are clear: there is poetry, intellectual stimulation, and a versatility of expression that is sometimes breathtaking to behold.
You have not been courted until you have had the pleasure of meeting up with an air sign! At the same time, the failure of these kinds of love relationships to progress past the initial stage of ardor and infatuation is often a sign that there is no true love behind the courtship. As lovers turn to astrology, love signs – genuine or experimental – all lead back to the influence of Venus and her rule over the individual sign.
