Can Free Astrology Software Do Justice to Syzygy?

Can Free Astrology Software Do Justice to Syzygy?

Syzygy is not an easy term to pronounce, but within the field of astrology it carries very special and far reaching meaning. It is during such an event that planets temporarily enter into a conjunction that places them in a straight line toward the sun. For this rather brief moment in time these planets – usually it is three – are in a joint gravitational system and astrologers have believed for a long time that persons born in that exact moment of a bona fide syzygy are destined for events and tasks that those born 30 seconds sooner or later may only dream of – sometimes with envy, and other times with dread. This highly specialized aspect of astrological chart preparation begs the question if software programs can adequately encompass this event. In addition, can free astrology software do justice to syzygy?

Those tied in with the astrological chart reading have always questioned the ability of a computer generated chart to adequately take into consideration the implications of a planetary syzygy when it comes to fine tuning the applications to the individual seeking the reading. Granted, software is most likely more accurate in determining the presence of such an event in the first place and might even accurately pinpoint the exact moment in time that the event begins and ends, but aside from this bit of mathematical ingenuity and time keeping, it is highly doubtful that even the most sophisticated – much less free – astrology software can draw the appropriate and accurate conclusions.

Adding to this occasional scorn heaped upon free astrology software is the fact that many a program may recognize a solar centered syzygy but most likely will not recognize one that is entirely planetary and neither involves the sun nor the moon. Truth be told, until recently plain planetary syzygies were disregarded even by those who would do astrological charts by hand, and these purists would factor in only those occurrences that involved both the earth and the sun. Since then a paradigm shift appears to have taken place, and the conjunction of any three celestial bodies, is now viewed by those in the know with extreme interest and concern. At this point in time, it is not possible to say with authority that free astrology software can do justice to syzygy, but the time when the available programs will be upgraded to include this newfound wisdom are certain to not be too far off.
