Astrology, Numerology Provide Window to the Being
In the past it was thought that astrology, numerology – both studies that provide windows into the very essence of being – and even limited forms of alchemy were entirely separate disciplines that rarely if ever should meet. This held true even until the last century when a curious paradigm shift occurred and the relationship between the occult sciences became blurred. Suddenly astrologers discovered revelations that portrayed astrology and numerology as mutually inclusive rather than exclusive. This of course flew in the face of what was accepted as common knowledge, and what had actually permeated the mind sets of Gnostics for a long time.
Is it mere chance that the numbers zero through nine correspond to the planets in our solar system? This of course is a highly unlikely event and thus astrologers have found that the numerical values assigned to the planets bear amazingly on the overall alignment of celestial bodies during an astrological charting. The number one is assigned to the sun, while two always refers to the moon. These numbers are close in relationship but the sun is clearly the ruling factor while the moon is always subjugated. The planets are assigned their own numbers in due course with only Earth not receiving any value (not even the number zero).
Following the train of thought set forth by early and thoroughly groundbreaking astrologers, the number one -- when used in an astrological chart -- refers to an egotistic individual who may be quintessentially a self sufficient person. It is not at all surprising that many a Scorpio sees the number one crop up a time or two. The number two is the exact opposite and it is imbued with a spirit of communication, cooperation, and also relationship building, making it a number typical in the chart of the average Libra although sometimes it may also be seen in the Gemini or Pisces, depending on the alignment of Venus.
It is noteworthy that astrology, numerology and the study of the natural zodiac assigns specific numbers to the signs. In this instance the Scorpio is assigned the number eight while Libra falls behind as seven. To newbies this presents a somewhat puzzling relationship in that it is easy to confuse the number values assigned to the celestial bodies with the number values assigned to each astrological sign. Given a bit of time to get used to the differentiation, and before long the entire setup makes a lot more sense.
